Faceting Gemstones
The NMFG holiday party was a fantastic success and after 2 years of not holding one, it was a great experience to get everyone together. Great food, great company, and drinks of a refreshing nature were had by all! Happy holidays, everyone! All are welcome to join next year!

The November membership meeting will be at the North Domingo Baca Multigenerational Center at 6:30 PM on the 8th of November (after you voted). We are planning a show-tell so do not forget the Gems you have cut since the last meeting and want to show and tell their story. We also have a program by Andy-Andy on the Pueblo Park Champ Ground Field Trip and the Labradorite found.
There will be a business meeting to plan our 2023 schedule for the Membership Meetings, Workshops, Demonstration at the Treasure of the Earth Rock Show, and Christmas Party. You may want to bring your calendar.

The next NMFG faceting workshop will be Sunday, October 16th at the Placitas Community Library, 453 Hwy 165, Placitas 87043, from 8:30 set up to 9 AM to 3 PM, workshop. We’ll follow the usual format of spending most of the time at your machines plus a short presentation by Ernie with handouts in the middle of the morning. Instructors will be available to assist anyone needing help. The cost is $15.00 per person to cover the cost of materials, lunch, and part of the cost for the use of the library. Please RSVP no later than Monday, October 10th, so we can do the necessary planning.
Very important: If you do not have a machine and want to come to the workshop you must let me know ASAP because there are only a few available faceting machines, and we may be short of instructors.
Parking is in the gravel lot to the West side of the building. You will enter the meeting room from the parking lot. You will be able to dump the wastewater in the dirt past the North end of the parking lot. There is a kitchen type setup where you will be able to get water.
Directions to the Placitas Community Library: Go North on I-25 to exit 242. Exit and go East 4.3 miles and you will see a Green and White sign pointing to the library.

The Treasures of the Earth Gem & Mineral Show was a wonderful success! For those of you who came to visit our booth, thank you, and it was wonderful seeing you! The NM Facetors Guild donated several items to the silent auction and nearly all were bid on! We look forward to the next show and seeing you all again!
The New Mexico Facetors Guild will have faceting demonstrations and examples of gems faceted by guild members. Please stop by!

Our Holiday Banquet is scheduled to be on December 14, 2019 at 6pm. Location is TBD.
Our meetings are held at the North Domingo Baca Multigenerational Center.
Our workshops are held at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science.
Monday, March 21, 2016 at the Manzano Mesa Multigenerational Center (MMMC) at 7 PM.
This is a onetime shift from our usual 2 nd Monday of the month to the 3 rd Monday for March only. This is also a new location for us.
The MMMC is located at 501 Elizabeth Street SE, ABQ NM 87123. It is the huge building south east from CostCo.
Come by this weekend, lots of rocks, gems and jewelry and 3 days of faceting demonstrations.
